There are currently 13 female residence halls at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. They are:
Badin Hall - built 1897 (as St. Joseph's Industrial School), it became a men's dorm in 1917, and a female dorm in 1972 when Notre Dame became co-educational. It is named after Rev. Stephen Badin. Capacity: 130 residents. Mascot/Nickname: Bullfrogs. Dorm Color: Green.

Breen-Phillips Hall - built 1939, converted to a female dorm after 1972. It is named after brothers-in-law William P. Breen (class of 1877) and Frank B. Phillips (class of 1880). Capacity: 206 residents. Mascot/Nickname: Babes. Colors: Blue/Pink.

Cavanaugh Hall - built 1936, converted to a female dorm in 1994. It is named after Rev. John W. Cavanaugh, the 5th president of Notre Dame. Capacity: 213 residents. Mascot/Nickname: Chaos. Color: Green.
- Famous past resident: Tim Brown (1987 Heisman Trophy winner)
Farley Hall - built 1942, converted to a female dorm in 1972 when Notre Dame became co-educational. It is named after Rev. John "Pop" Farley. Capacity: 242 residents. Mascot/Nickname: Finest. Colors: Green/Yellow.
- Famous past resident: Theodore Hesburgh (president emeritus of Notre Dame, served as rector of Farley Hall)
Howard Hall - built in 1924, converted to a female dorm in 1987. It is named after Timothy Howard, an Indiana Supreme Court Justice and former Notre Dame professor. Capacity: 161 residents. Mascot/Nickname: Ducks. Colors: Yellow/Green.
Lewis Hall - built in 1965 to honor Frank Lewis. Capacity: 294 residents. Mascot/Nickname: Chickens. Colors: Blue/Gold.
Lyons Hall - built in 1925 as a male dorm, later named for Joseph Lyons and converted to a female dorm in 1974. Capacity: 202. Mascot/Nickname: Lions. Colors: Black/Gold.
- Famous past resident: Regis Philbin, (television personality).
McGlinn Hall - built in 1997, named after Terrence and Barbara McGlinn. Capacity: 266 residents. Mascot/Nickname: Shamrocks. Color: Green.
Pangborn Hall - built in 1955, converted to a female dorm in 1992. It was named after Thomas C. and John W. Pangborn. Capacity: 179 residents. Mascot/Nickname: Phoxes. Colors:Purple/Green.

Pasquerilla East Hall and Pasquerilla West Hall - built in 1981. They were named after donors Frank and Sylvia Pasquerilla. Capacity: 239 residents (East), 240 residents (West). PE Mascot/Nickname: Pyros. Colors: Red/Black. PW Mascot/Nickname: Purple Weasles. Color: Purple.
Walsh Hall - built in 1909, converted to a female dorm in 1972 when Notre Dame became co-educational. It named after Father Thomas Walsh, the 6th president of Notre Dame. Capacity: 190 residents. Mascot/Nickname: Wild Women. Colors: Baby Blue/White.
Welsh Family Hall - built in 1997. Capacity: 262 residents. Mascot/Nickname: Whirlwind. Colors: Blue/White
